Frequently asked questions

This page collects the most common questions about KognitiMind, grouped by theme. You will find out which files you can upload, who can see your documents, how far you can trust the AI, what the plans include, and how flashcards, quizzes and scheduled review work. If something is missing, the feature pages go into more detail.

Files and formats

What files can I upload?

PDF, PowerPoint (PPTX) and Word (DOCX) files on every plan, and images (PNG, JPEG, WebP, HEIC) on Student Pro and Student Pro Max. Old .ppt and .doc files are not accepted, so save them as PPTX or DOCX first. From a PPTX it reads the slide text, tables, speaker notes and inserted pictures, but not charts or SmartArt built in PowerPoint.

How large can files be, and how many can I store?

The file size limit is 10 MB on Free, 25 MB on Student Pro and 50 MB on Student Pro Max. You can store 5, 50 or 200 documents respectively. If you reach the limit, delete an old document and you can upload again.

Does it work with handwritten notes and scanned PDFs?

Yes, on the paid plans. The AI transcribes images and PDF pages with no selectable text, up to 30 distinct images per document on Student Pro and 100 on Student Pro Max; further images are skipped. Reading them uses no AI credits, but the summaries, flashcards and quizzes you make from them do. For an uploaded image you can read the transcription on the Content tab; for a scanned PDF it is not shown separately. More on the scanned and handwritten notes page.

Why did my document fail to process?

The document shows the reason. No extractable text means the file holds no text or images to learn from. If the file is damaged or unreadable, save it again and re-upload it. Needs image processing means the content is in images, which only the paid plans read. AI is temporarily unavailable means the document's text would come from its images, but today's AI processing budget is used up; delete it and upload it again the next day.

Privacy and data

Who can see my uploaded documents?

No other user can see them; your documents belong to your account. Operators see only titles and status, never the content. For the AI features, the relevant parts of the text, your questions and the chat history are sent to the Google Gemini API, and on the paid plans the images too, for transcription.

How do I delete my documents or my account?

Delete a document on the Documents page; its file and the flashcards, quizzes and chats made from it go with it. You can delete your whole account on the Profile page by entering your password, which also deletes your documents and everything made from them. Deleting your account ends a live subscription immediately, and no fee is refunded for the remaining period.

Where can I read the terms of service and the privacy notice?

Through the links in the footer of this site. Both are available in Hungarian only, which is the binding version. Under the terms of service, the service is for users aged 16 and over.

AI accuracy

How accurate is the AI?

It is a good starting point, but it is not infallible. It can misread a relationship, merge two concepts, mark a wrong answer as correct in a quiz, or misread a word in handwriting. Check what you learn against the original material. Chat answers come with source references, so you can see which passage an answer is based on.

Does it search the web?

No. Every feature works from the material you uploaded. If something is not in the document, the chat should say it cannot find it rather than fill the gap from elsewhere.

Does the AI see the whole of a long document?

Not always. For long documents, the summary, flashcards and quizzes are made from passages taken from the beginning to the end of the document, so some sections may be left out. Chat and concept explanations look up the few most relevant passages for each question. If a chapter matters, ask about it in the chat or upload it as a separate document.

Plans and billing

Is KognitiMind free?

There is a free plan, with no card needed. Free gives you 300 AI credits a month, up to 40 a day, five documents and files up to 10 MB. Student Pro costs HUF 1990 a month and Student Pro Max HUF 3490 a month; the pricing page has the details.

What is an AI credit, and what happens when I run out?

The AI features, such as summaries, flashcard generation, quizzes and chat, use credits, up to your plan's monthly and daily allowance. When you run out, the AI features do not start until the allowance resets: the daily one at midnight, the monthly one on the first day of the next month, Hungarian time. The app tells you when you can use them again. If an AI action fails because of an error, the reserved credits are refunded. Your documents and flashcards stay available, and you can keep reviewing.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On the Profile page, with the Manage subscription button, any time. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the paid period, then your account moves to the Free plan and you are not charged again.

Why are prices VAT-exempt, and do I get an invoice?

We use the Hungarian small-business VAT exemption (alanyi adómentesség, AAM), so no VAT is added: the price shown is the full amount you pay. An invoice is e-mailed after every successful payment, which is why you need to confirm your e-mail address before subscribing.

Study tools

Can I edit the generated flashcards?

No, cards cannot be edited one by one. You can star the hard ones, and if a set did not turn out well, you can delete it and generate a new one. Each generation gives ten cards. More on the flashcard generator page.

What kind of questions do quizzes have?

Multiple-choice questions, each with four options. You choose between one and twenty questions, and at the end you see your score and the correct answers. More on the quiz generator page.

How does scheduled review work?

You review your flashcards on a schedule: due cards come first, then up to twenty new ones. You rate each card with one of four buttons, and every button shows how many days until the card comes back. The dashboard shows how many cards are due today. More on the spaced repetition page.

Can I move my cards to Anki?

Yes, on every plan. On a flashcard set's page, download it as an Anki package (.apkg) or as CSV. The cards arrive in Anki as new, without the review history.

What language are the summaries and flashcards in?

In the language set on your Profile page, English or Hungarian, whatever the language of the document. The same single setting also sets the language of the app. If you switch languages, the next time you ask for a summary a new one is made in the new language, which uses credits again.
